sweet spring

Mon May 10 2010

this is my first spring here on the West Coast of Canada – and it’s amazing.  Not even two weeks into May and there are brilliant vibrant flower blooms everywhere you look – the trees are pink, the gardens are bursting, there are even bee-yoo-tiful orange blooms growing in the nooks and crannies of rock faces.  neighbours started mowing their lawns in march.  March!!  the long range forecast on the weather network shows a practically flat line. and it’s hovering at about 18 degrees C.  wowie wow wow!

so, Friday afternoon was one of these blooming, bursting spring days and we scooped the Bug up from school and went right down to the playground by the ocean – i took pictures (of course) and the kids ran, swung on the swings, threw rocks in the ocean and played in the warm sun.  much to the delight of the little folks, all of this is also perfect for lollipops:

(also gorgeous and fresh: this new template from Splendid Fiins at, new in the store today!  click on image to see layout in the Inspiration Gallery at and view full credits:)

Love the plaid and polka-dots. Love the blanket stitch! The blue-sky edging is great with the reds, all the colour in the centre makes the whole thing leap towards you – I think of hopscotch. Or maybe it’s the grid paper that makes me think of hopscotch. Love the sun peeking around M. LOVE the pictures, the lollipop, the hearts in her hat. It’s all very sweet.
